Product Details
Freeze Substitution is a method of sample preparation for electron microscope, which has been widely used in the study of Cell Biology. Leica EM AFS2 performs freeze substitution and makes this process running automatically. However the samples in the Leica EM AFS2 are stationary, which leads to a long freeze substitution period because of the low exchange rate of the organic solvent. In order to improve the efficiency, we has developed a Quick Freeze Substitution Equipment which can be applied to Leica EM AFS2. This equipment has a shaker, which is placed in the low temperature chamber of AFS2. When the shaker is shaking, the substitution medium around the samples is shaking as well, which makes the exchange rate faster. Therefore the Quick Freeze Substitution Equipment can greatly reduce the experimental time and improve the efficiency. The Quick Freeze Substitution Equipment can also be used in the infiltration process of low temperature embedding resin.
